I wanted to write about this since long time. I strongly believe the Belgian Post (”La Poste“) is one of the worst customer service experiences which the country has to offer.
Nigel Farage, the enfant terrible of MEPs, from the UK Independence party was recently penalized by Jerzy Buzek for insulting Van Rompuy (“nobody knows you”) and Belgium (“non-state”) in Parliament. He refused to apologize. It is a difficult to draw a line between professional politeness and plain language, also a matter of temper. In other news Baroness Ashton commented on Gadhafi’s call for a holy war against Switzerland, saying it was “unfortunate” and not the right time for such announcements.
Thanks god, Brusselsblogger can simply speak truth about La Poste customer services and I approve that message. Ordinary people outside Belgium don’t understand why it is complicated or why you are “discouraged” by La Poste in Belgium to pick up a package from the post office or submit something via snail mail letter. Belgium here mostly feels like a developing nation, “developing” being an euphemism for essential improvements which just don’t happen, everything goes slowly slow. Expect to wait 50 minutes when you just want to buy stamps. Get a clerk to submit the letters for you.
